Preston C. Regehr is a founder of TechLaw Ventures, PLLC, a law firm that provides transactional and dispute resolution services involving intellectual property to computer hardware and software, healthcare, nutraceutical, chemical, publishing and technology companies.

Mr. Regehr came to TechLaw Ventures from the law firm of Parsons Behle & Latimer where he was a shareholder and member of the firm's Technology and Intellectual Property Law Group, and head of its Trademark Department. Prior to PB&L, he was also a shareholder in the law firm of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy where he served in the firm's Technology and Intellectual Property Section. In Toronto, Canada, prior to admission to the Law Society of Upper Canada (the Ontario bar association), Preston articled with the Legal Department of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and with Blake Cassels & Graydon.

He enjoys representing a variety of clients in the law applicable to marketing and licensing products and services, and associated intellectual property and technology matters. He helps clients protect, enforce and commercialize intellectual property, and increase brand equity worldwide. Mr. Regehr has served clients ranging from colleges and cosmetic makers, to banks and book publishers. He has assisted clients with protection of geopositioning technology for open pit mines in the Far East, and satellite maps of parts of the Middle East. His advertising law experience includes signage issues for local companies through Super Bowl commercials for a publicly traded multinational.

Perhaps he is best known as a trademark attorney who is continuously involved in trademark selection and clearance, application prosecution, registration and renewal, and trademark infringement matters; trade dress development, protection and enforcement; and advertising and packaging law. His work includes franchise and business opportunity law; copyright protection of books, music, software, art work, satel-lite mapping and real estate data; computer software and database license agreements; preparation, negotiation and administration of technology development licenses; employee confidentiality and trade secret matters; and domestic and international marketing, distribution and franchise agreements.

Mr. Regehr maintains a large active file of pending U.S. and foreign trademark applications and registrations. He also represents small, medium size and public companies in their domestic and worldwide marketing and licensing efforts.

Preston also represents firms in Internet domain name disputes and represents many companies in intellectual property and licensing issues applicable to their web sites and e-commerce, digital music and information downloads, and matters involving Internet social media such as Facebook and Twitter. He helps some clients sell product through more traditional means, such as catalogue sales, franchising, and distribution through representatives in USA and internationally.
